Landana Jersey Gouda is made from pure Jersey milk, which gives it its full-bodied, rich and unique taste. Our recipe is unique and uses pure Jersey milk: full-fat, non-skimmed, featuring all its remarkable ingredients and delicious tastes & flavors.
Following age-old Holland tradition, the milk is turned into Gouda cheese and naturally aged on wooden boards. All our Jersey cheeses are checked by our master cheesemaker for taste and quality, which means they taste DIFFERENT. Our pure Jersey milk comes from a very special breed: Jersey cows. Jersey cows are an ancient breed that produce a DIFFERENT kind of milk to regular cows. Their milk is naturally high in protein and fat, making Jersey milk more full-bodied and creamier, as you’ll taste when you bite into our Landana Jersey Cheese.
The full-fat Jersey milk produced by our Jersey cows in Holland is not skimmed and remains deliciously rich. That is because we leave the milk as pure as can be, using it just as it comes from the cow. With most cheeses, the layer of extra cream is removed in order to make butter or cream, but in Landana Jersey cheeses, this layer of cream is retained, providing extra flavor.
