Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Jersey Cheese and Kimchi

Preparation time: 15 min.

 

Ingredients for 2 sandwiches:

    • 100g Landana Jersey Matured
    • 4 slices of sourdough bread (or any other hearty bread of your choice)
    • 100g kimchi, drained and finely chopped
    • 2 tablespoons of butter, room temperature
    • Optional: 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds or spring onions for extra flavor

Preperation:

  1. Prepare the toast:
  • Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread. This will make the toast golden brown and crispy when frying.
  • Place two slices of bread with the buttered side down.
  1. Assemble:
  • Evenly distribute the grated Jersey cheese on the two slices of bread.
  • Top the cheese with the chopped kimchi.
  • Optional: Sprinkle some sesame seeds or finely chopped spring onions on the cheese and kimchi for an extra flavor boost.
  • Place the other slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
  1. Fry the toast:
  • Heat a pan over medium heat. Place the toasts in the pan and fry them for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese has melted. Gently press down with a spatula to help the cheese melt and mix with the kimchi.
  1. Serve:
  • Remove the toasts from the pan and cut them diagonally.
  • Serve immediately while hot and enjoy the delicious combination of creamy cheese and spicy kimchi!
